Nara Rastegar is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a Behaviour Support Practitioner with over 10 years of experience working across mental health, disability, and community services. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and is passionate about helping individuals and families improve their wellbeing, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Nara works with children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioural concerns, life transitions, relationship challenges, and neurodevelopmental differences. She has a particular interest in Positive Behaviour Support, trauma-informed practice, and culturally responsive care.
Her therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). She tailors treatment to each person’s unique strengths, goals, and circumstances.
Nara provides a warm, collaborative, and strengths-based therapeutic environment where clients feel safe, respected, and understood. Her practice is grounded in person-centred, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care, with a strong focus on empowering individuals to create meaningful and lasting change.
Fluent in English, Farsi (Persian), and Dari, Nara provides psychological services under NDIS, WorkCover, TAC, Victims of Crime (FAS), Medicare Mental Health Care Plans, and private funding.
She is committed to helping people understand the underlying factors contributing to their difficulties, develop practical coping skills, strengthen resilience, and build healthier, more fulfilling lives through compassionate, evidence-based, and culturally responsive care.
