Farzin Shaykhi is a Registered Clinical Psychologist and Director of Corewell Clinic who is passionate about helping people overcome emotional distress, improve relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change. He completed his psychology training and Master of Clinical Psychology in Australia and is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS).
Farzin works with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, relationship difficulties, emotional regulation challenges, chronic pain, low self-esteem, and life transitions. He has a particular interest in helping individuals who feel stuck in recurring emotional, behavioural, and relationship patterns that continue to impact their wellbeing and quality of life.
A key area of Farzin’s clinical expertise is Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). Drawing heavily on ISTDP, attachment-based, and emotion-focused approaches, he helps clients understand and overcome the unconscious emotional and relational patterns that contribute to anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic emotional distress, and interpersonal difficulties. His goal is not only to reduce symptoms but also to help clients achieve deeper emotional understanding, greater resilience, and lasting psychological change.
Farzin’s therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and active. He believes that lasting change occurs when individuals develop greater awareness of their emotions, relationships, and internal patterns. By helping clients process difficult emotions and strengthen their capacity for self-understanding, he supports them in building healthier relationships, greater confidence, and a more fulfilling life.
Having worked extensively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, Farzin is committed to providing culturally sensitive and inclusive psychological care. As a bilingual psychologist, he offers therapy in both English and Farsi (Persian), allowing clients to engage in therapy in the language that feels most natural and comfortable for them.
