Mahnaz Nikka

Mahnaz is a compassionate and experienced Occupational Therapist with more than 25 years of healthcare experience across Australia and internationally. She holds qualifications in occupational therapy and midwifery and has completed specialised graduate training in mental health, with experience across inpatient, community, and older adult mental health services.

She has experience supporting individuals across different life stages who may be experiencing complex mental health conditions, psychosocial disability, cognitive and functional difficulties, physical disability, and challenges with everyday activities. Her work is tailored to each person’s individual needs, circumstances, strengths, and goals.

Her occupational therapy practice includes functional and functional-cognitive assessments, sensory and environmental assessments, assessment of daily living needs, assistive technology recommendations, and the development of meaningful routines and capacity-building strategies to improve independence, confidence, safety, and community participation.

Mahnaz uses a holistic, recovery-oriented, and person-centred approach. She works collaboratively with clients, families, and other professionals to understand each person’s priorities and develop practical strategies that support everyday functioning and participation.

Guided by compassion, respect, dignity, inclusion, and client choice, Mahnaz values culturally safe and individualised care. She is passionate about helping people reduce barriers, build on their strengths, increase independence, and participate more fully in meaningful activities and roles.

As a bilingual Occupational Therapist, Mahnaz offers services in both English and Farsi (Persian), allowing clients and families to communicate in the language that feels most natural and comfortable for them.
